Cara Mirabella is hosting a Virtual Cookie Swap over at The Household Helper and I’m going to be participating twice – once here on the Mom’s Resources Blog at Mom’s Talk Network and again over at Family Foodies because I have TWO favorite Christmas Cookie recipes to share
This Christmas Cookie Recipe is for a soft, thick, not too sweet cookie perfect for a thick layer of your favorite frosting. I love these cookies because they stay soft for a long time in a sealed container.
Here’s the ingredient list:
2 c sugar
1 c shortening
2 eggs
1 c sour milk
1 tsp vanilla
5 c flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Cream together sugar and shortening – then add the eggs, milk and vanilla.
Sift together dry ingredients and slowly add to cream micture.
Chill dough for one hour.
Roll out on floured surface to 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick.
Back 375 degrees for 5-7 minutes
Be sure to head on over to Cara’s site to see who else comes to the Swap!
