Just my mom, Queen Martha. Who could probably give Martha Stewart some serious competition!
My mom – who somehow managed to maintain a spotless house, make 8 or 10 kinds of cookies, 12-13 kinds of candy, 75 or more Christmas cards addressed & mailed (including a family newsletter of course), decorated tins & plates for gift giving, Secret Sister gifts, Christmas plays and musicals for herself and her three kids without skipping a beat.
Uncomplicated and heartwarming, despite the flurry of activity, my memories of the holidays are my most treasured childhood remembrances.
How did she do it? I don’t know. I was there and I still don’t really know how she did it. So, I’ve decided to interview her and record for posterity her tips & tricks, favorite recipes and gift giving ideas, and the memories she has of holidays past – both as wife, mom, sister, friend and now Nana…
