Summer is here and we all want to look our best. Finding an easy-to-care-for hairstyle is as simple as knowing your face. Here are some easy face-accentuating hairdos for summer.
Easy-to-care-for should also be sexy. The shape of your face determines what types of hairdos are best for you and how to maintain them. There are four main face shapes: round, heart, square, and long.
A round face is one in which the cheeks are as wide as the forehead region. The jaw and the chin have a rounded appearance. Those with this facial shape choose long loose waves that frame the face or a long layered look like a bob.
Any style that adds height at the top of your head will look beautiful on you. Straight bobs are tamed with straightening cream and a blow dryer. Long loose curls are maintained with a bump here and there from the curling iron when needed.
A square face is characterized by a jaw that is as wide as the forehead. If your hair is shoulder length, layers should begin below the jawline. If your hair is shorter, adding face-framing layers throughout softens the jaw.
To maintain your face accentuating coif, use a round brush and some hair spray. Hair spray used on shorter styles allows you to lift and separate with your fingers. The brush can be used to flip up the ends of your layers.
Heart-shaped faces have a wide forehead with the rest of the face tapering off at a narrow chin. Instead of shorter layers, keep them long so that they don’t frame the face and accentuate your narrow chin. What you want is the illusion of a fuller look at the jawline to balance your facial features.
The tools to maintain are a round brush, blow dryer, and volumizing spray. The round brush will give height to your layers as you blow dry. For shorter styles, the key is more volume in the longer layers on top.
Long faces have high foreheads and long chins. Side sweeping bangs shorten the appearance of the face. A chin length bob with body waves or lots of curls that frame the face also work to deemphasize the long narrow chin.
Long faces need volume all over. The hair requires volume building cream or lotion hair accessories for a fuller look to the style. Flat hairdos are the enemy of a long face.
Hairdos made easy for summer should also give you your best look. By choosing a style that works with your facial features, you will gain ease of style and warm weather beauty.
