It is more than possible to have a great Christmas without maxing out all of your high interest credit cards.
Simple tips that could save you a bundle:
Make a list - Who are the people you would like to give gifts to? Think about how much to spend and write it beside each name.
Shop ahead - You can purchase Christmas gifts all year round if you’re well organized. Taking advantage of after holiday sales, out of season and clearance deals will save you a ton.
Hide the credit cards - By not using them you are already a step ahead. No worrying about interest and payments after the first of the year.
Draw names - Many families help cut back on holiday spending by drawing names. Each person in the family only shops for one other person whose name they have drawn.
Gift cards - Gift cards help you shop on a budget. Purchase the cards in the amount you can afford all through the year. Tuck them away in an envelope in a safe place until you have the amount needed to purchase the gifts.
