Hello fellow readers of the Mom’s Resource Blog!
I’d like to introduce myself. I am Mimi Klosterman and I am one of Kelly’s newest intern for the Mom’s Resource Blog.
Family
I’m a wife to Michael of 15 years and a homeschooling mother to seven children – ages 4 to 14. We have 4 boys and 3 girls. Our family moved to South Dakota from California 7 years ago. Since my husband was raised in South Dakota, we thought it would be a better place to raise our children. Now, we live out in the country where our kids can roam around!
Background
After college, I worked at IBM/Lockheed Martin for 10 years as a software tester/installer/systems programmer. My husband and I were able to raise three kids without any daycare by adjusting our work schedules. When I was pregnant with the fourth child, I came home to be a full time mother.
We felt God calling us to home educate our children. It has been a great journey so far and we feel like we have a closer relationship with our kids.
I am involved with a lot of our children’s activities like teaching homeschool co-op classes, helping our kids learn to make money by running small businesses, coordinate events and perform administrative duties for non-profit organizations. Digital scrapbooking is something I enjoy but don’t have the time to devote to it like I want.
Recently, I started a virtual assistant business to utilize my skills and supplement our income.
Blogging
I’ve never blogged before so when Kelly announced her blogging internship, I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn. Thanks to Kelly for giving up some of her valuable time to teach other moms blogging techniques. Since she had mom-related blogs, I thought I had enough adventures with my children that I could share my experiences. This year is my year to step out of my comfort zone!

Mimi, you are the woman with 7 kids. Can't wait to read more from you.
Nice intro Mimi! It's great to get to know you. I'm so glad I'm not the only newbie blogger around here.
Congrats on the internship position and I look forward to hearing more from you!
Hi Mimi & welcome! I am also a new intern on the Family TV Addicts blog. I am very interested in seeing your posts about homeschooling resources. We spend 3 months in the winter at our home in Costa Rica & this will be the first year that we homeschool while we are there. I have gathered a lot of information over the years but would love to see additional insight from someone who has “been there”.
Welcome, Mimi! Being a mom of seven I would love to hear how you save money on your food budget!!
I look forward to working with you, Mimi! It's very odd for me because my nickname is Mimi and the name I use in all of my personal blogs is Mimi.
Let's make the Mom's Resource Blog awesome!
Jennifer, let me know what topics you'd like to see.
Thanks, Nikki! I thought I was the only one, too. Look forward to your posts!
Thanks! I don't know if we have been saving much because these kids just keep growing and eating more. We're still playing catch up!
Did Kelly put us together on purpose?
Hi Mimi nice to meet you! Looking forward to your posts.
I'm in awe of you already! I can't wait to read your posts. I've thought of homeschooling, but it makes me nervous. I still have a few years to decide, though.
Congrats on the internship Mimi! You sound like a very busy, but organized mother.
I'm looking forward to reading more from you.
P.S. I'm in my second year of homeschooling. One in K-5 and one in 1st. Loving it most of the time.
