Ice Age

Ice Age

More than 20,000 years ago, the Earth was facing a new Ice Age, which forced animals and humans alike, to migrate for food, shelter, and a more hospitable environment.

One of the most interesting premises of “Ice Age” the movie, is that it shows life as it basically would have been back then, with individual animals and small groups of humans forging their own way through a harsh wilderness.

The plot revolves around the trek towards a better and brighter home for a group of animals that end up forming an unusual friendship, much to the delight of some, and disgust of the others. The large, somewhat grumpy woolly mammoth Manny; slightly hyper but friendly sloth named Sid, and a sly, lithe saber-toothed tiger named Diego, share in their own separate ways, the journey of a lifetime, that could easily be cut short for all of them, if they aren’t careful. Tagging along behind, is the manic little saber-toothed squirrel named Scrat, in his eternal search for just one more nut.

Their separate quests for survival, are set aside when a human baby falls into their care, and they must find its family. Braving lava pits, ice pits, snowstorms, the freezing cold, and some dark, mysterious enemies, the three march on, hoping to find a new home over the horizon.

It’s definitely worth seeing.
