I’m thinking about goal setting right now. There are so many areas of my life that I’d like to see some change in. If I’m to see those changes, I need to set some goals to get there.
How about you Mom? Do you need to set some goals too? I find that setting goals helps to motivate me.
Quoting directly from Julie Morgenstern’s book Time Management from the Inside Out: ”Motivation to take action comes when you see something on the other side of the activity that you really desperately want“.
Would you like to join me in setting some goals?
Sit down with a blank piece of paper and come up with what some goals. Consider all of the areas of your life: Work, Family, Home, Self and Friendship, Finances, Knowledge, Romance, Spirituality but pick the areas that you really want to change the most.
Come up with some general statements for each category – what exactly do you want to change?
These are my goals:
- Work (crafting/sewing): To be a well-recognized sewer/crafter in my home town.
- Family: Make my husband, and kids feel loved and important
- Home: I want a home that is welcoming to all at ANY time and always be full of people and kids
- Self: to be healthy, spiritually close to God
- Friendship: keep in touch with my friends.
Goals are dreams of what you want to be, of what you want to accomplish. So let yourself dream!
Tomorrow we’ll talk about steps to achieve these goals!
