Kid Circles
One of my favorite hobby is digital scrapbooking.  Even though I don’t have much time to spend on it, I’m trying to make it a priority to work on it a little at a time.

I don’t remember who told me but that person saw digital scrapbooking as a way to document your family’s history.  A person putting memories of his life in a book is like being the family’s historian.

Some people like the paper scrapbooking but I like digital scrapbooking for several reasons:

  1. If I crop a picture the wrong size, I can always undo it and try cropping it to the correct size.
  2. If I want to change the color of a background or the frame of a picture, that would be easy to do with the computer.  I can actually see what the pages would look like with different colors and change it to the one I like.
  3. By making a digital scrapbook page or book, I can print multiple copies to send to other family members.  Even more, I can even personalize it by changing some text when giving it to a family member.
  4. There is no mess with papers, glue and pictures where kids can get their hands on them.

I’ll need to be a little more organized with my time if I want to pass our memories on to our grandchildren.  Involving the children is another way to further this effort.  I thought the children could choose a picture or two that they like and create a scrapbook page.

How will you pass on your family’s history to your grandchildren and great grandchildren?

I'm really going to try out Digital Scrapbooking. I cannot seem to get myself to do the “old” scrapbooking because of all the mess & clutter. I tried doing it the digital way about 4 yrs ago but I am sure the technology has gotten a lot better. I'll have to give it another try. Thanks.

Trace, if you're really interested in digital scrapbooking, check out http://www.carolinaheritagemakers.com. The scariest thing about digital scrapbooking is being alone. Sure you can read all sorts of blogs and tutorials, but sometimes you still need a guide to help you along. That's where I come in… I'm kind of your personal guide.

I'd love to help you get started. Take a look at my website… the tools and artwork are all FREE and so is having me as your personal tutor.
