Who says that you have to go out to have a successful date? If you are short on money or just looking for a change of pace, finding fun things to do at home could make for an interesting date. Here are a few ideas to make your date night a special experience at home.
How about dinner and a movie? Order a large pizza that includes toppings that you both enjoy. Rent a couple of movies and choose the one you both want to see. Most grocery stores carry video machines, which carry the newest releases. Renting one can be done with a credit or debit card and the rate is $1.00 per 24-hour period.
Board games are not just for children. Dust off those boxes in the top of your closet and invite your date to have some fun. Board games like Monopoly and Life take several hours to play and can fill up an entire evening. For a game that brings you both a little bit closer, try Twister.
If you are looking to save money, cook a special dinner at home instead of ordering out. Ask your date what his/her favorite foods are and prepare a few of them. Start off with a simple appetizer of fruit and cheese, followed by the meal. Afterwards, you both can cozy up with a few chocolate covered strawberries and some bubbly champagne.
A night of dancing doesn’t have to occur at a club. Choose romantic CD’s or vintage music to get your blood pumping. Dress up as if you were going out. Clear the living room floor so that you have enough space for spins and dips. Who knows were the evening could end?
Take some extra special time for each other. Set up a station for pedicures and neck rubs. You both can help each other unwind with a quiet evening staying in. Use this time to also get to know one another better. Discussions on any number of subjects can take place while you are learning to unwind. Sip on a glass of wine and snack on light hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening.
Enjoy an evening outdoors. Put up a volleyball net in the back yard. Start off by playing a friendly game of volleyball. Maybe you both could play a game of tag. Finish the evening roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. Telling ghost stories could be a fun excuse to snuggle close.
Date night doesn’t have to be held at a restaurant or movie theater. Fun ways to have a date can be done in the comfort of your own home. Save some money and spend a night at home with your new love interest.
