I just wanted to share an experiment I did recently. I’m quite the newbie to online marketing and all that it involves pretty much…that includes blogging. Having just started my own website not too long ago and wanting to do product reviews I decided to do a Product Review Event.

This would involve a group of people reviewing the same products at the same time but in a fun atmosphere. With a background in various sales and people-oriented job positions this event was pretty easy for me to put together.

I sent a post to the Mom Pack group that I belong too and quite a few women responded with interest. This is a group of women in business who are there to support each other. I’ve found my header/banner designer there and more. They would be getting their product in front of a group in person, as well as a place on my blog with pictures, reviews and their website/contact information by sending me their products. I also told them their items would not be returned but be given away in a drawing for prizes.

I sent out invitations to a lot of women I knew personally or by aquaintance. A few did come. I mainly did email invites and would advise on a more personal approach. Also I chose to do this on a weekday morning and alot of women work during that time so I knew I was up against some walls here. But all in all, when that day came, I was glad for just a small group to be here. We enjoyed some yummy dessert while taste-testing coffee from Joffrey’s and reviewing some great products.
