I’m sad that my CBC with LaTara at Mom Unplugged is coming to an end, but I encourage you to read about how her businesses are growing and how she keeps her business goals in line with her everyday values. I especially love her goal of helping people see the “wonders and beauty in all people”, because I also believe every person has something amazing to contribute to this world.
Her last question for me was a tough one:
If you could do anything in the world without having to worry, what would it be?
Yikes! Answering that question made me worry. LOL!
I had to really mull this one over, so I’m sorry it took me so long to respond. Very interesting question and one that I think everyone should think about. It’s almost like, if this was your last day on Earth, what would you do? You would definitely live that day differently, wouldn’t you?
I have two answers to this question: one is personal and one is professional.
Personally, I’d reach out to people in my life more. And the main reason I don’t do this is out of fear of rejection.
I would love to reach out to people I either lost contact with unintentionally, or lost contact with due to a falling out. And having gone through more experiences in life, I feel I’d love to find all of those people and apologize (or forgive) and start fresh. But, I worry that they aren’t interested in reconnecting, which would be like opening up old wounds all over again.
Also, there are currently a few people in my life who I consider to be acquaintances, but would love to get to know better. I always seem to be too busy worrying about getting my “to do” list done, than making this a priority. Plus, I worry that maybe I’m the only one wanting to get to know the other person better. Silly, isn’t it?
Professionally, I’d write that darn book that’s been eluding me for 13 years, or so. Why has it been eluding me? Worry, worry, and more worry. I always think, “What if I write it and can’t get it published? Then I went through all that effort for nothing.”
But, as the old saying goes, “It’s all about the journey, and not the destination.”
Thank you, LaTara, for making this an extremely enlightening CBC. It really solidified my drive to keep working towards my goals while being true to myself, and I thank you for that. And you can be sure that I won’t be a stranger in the future!
