As a mom, I know that the women usually make the health insurance purchasing decisions for the family. It used to be so easy to just enroll in your company’s health insurance coverage and pay the monthly premium right out of your paycheck. However, with so many people unemployed and with other companies cutting back on their group insurance coverage, there is more of a need for individual insurance these days.
I am a group benefits advisor and talk to people everyday who are looking for advice and tips for finding their own individual health insurance. It can be very confusing and scary, especially if you’re facing the daunting task of paying outrageous premiums for COBRA.
