I’m wrapping up Day Two of 48 Days to a Better Me and want to update my accountability buddies.
I’ve stayed away from caffeine and have had a killer headache to show for it. That should be over with by tomorrow. I’m drinking lots of water and caffeine free diet soda.
On Day One I ate several small meals and avoided late night snacking.
Today I had a meal with family and honestly felt like I ate too much. It sort of snuck up on me, you know? I didn’t think I put that much on my plate but I did snick snack before the meal.
Tomorrow I have to go shopping and stock the kitchen with healthy snacks and meal fixings.
Tonight I did a short stint of exercise. Soup can free weights (still need to buy some free weights) and walking in place, just enough to get my blood pumping.
Why do I want a Better Me?
(Everytime I post an update, I’ll also take some time to remind myself WHY I’m doing this.)
I twittered last week about my sister’s Mom having a stroke. It was a scary moment for the family, realizing how quickly everything can change. At 65 she has high blood pressure and she has insulin dependent diabetes. I’m 42 and if I don’t embrace a healthier lifestyle I’ve no doubt that I’m headed towards a similar situation. I just don’t want to grow old and feeble!
If I don’t use it, I’m going to lose it.

Good for you, Kelly – those caffeine withdrawal headaches are killer but they will go away in a few days. Sometimes having a cup of decaf eases things – because there is a little caffeine in it. Cold turkey is hard core!

Hi Kelly!
Good job on staying on track with the caffeine thing.
Yesterday I remained on my diet and was actually able to do 30 minutes of exercise. I also took the day off to begin organizing my things.
I admit I can’t let go of the caffeine thing though. That won’t be one of my goals in these 48 days- maybe later? LOL
Blessings,

Good job, Kelly. I need to join on this as well. I just don’t know if I’m ready yet. I don’t want to fail you know. But I’m proud of you.
Hey Kelly, AWESOME JOB! Once you get past the headache, I’m sure it will get easier! You rock! Keep it up!
