better-me-125Yesterday was the half way point in my 48 Days to a Better Me project :)

  • I’ve lost 18 pounds in 25 days. (Check!)
  • I’m working out daily. (Check!)
  • I’ve given up caffeine. (Check!)
  • I have done nothing about setting up a budget. (Hmm…)
  • I have fallen very behind on my plan to read the bible in 90 days. (—)

It was probably a mistake to set so many goals for one 48 day period of time. Making lasting life changes takes real effort and while I’ve been doing great with diet and activity – the rest has fallen to the wayside.

I’m not giving up on any of the goals I’ve set. Making excuses or amending my goals just feels like a cop out. I’ve got the second half of this challenge before me and I plan to use it wisely.

I don’t want to look back at this 48 days with any regrets. I only get to live THIS 48 days once :)

Why do I want to Be a Better Me?

I can’t tell you how good I feel when I finish working out. The sense of accomplishment is amazing. It has been more than ten years since I have worked out daily for so many weeks in a row. With every additional day I feel stronger and *gasp* enjoy it more.

Feeling good about myself is better than chocolate ;)

Great job Kelly! Keep up the amazing work – 18 pounds in 25 days is fantastic! I am jealous :) They say it takes 21 days to make a habit so it looks like you have a new habit – yay! Maybe that will help you focus on your other goals. I would love to workout that many days in a row, you are inspiring me :)

Yay! You have discovered a secret to lasting changes – finding intrinsic value in the activity. Because you now enjoy it and get such a sense of accomplishment from it, it is more likely that exercise will become a permanent part of your routine.

As for setting up a budget and reading the bible? Well, there is always another 48 days waiting at the end of this one. And the success on your first three goals will give you added momentum for the next ones.

Can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
