Better Me: Day Four

Here’s my Day Four 48 Days to a Better Me update.

better-me-125I’m really pumped :) First of all, the scale was nice to me this morning. I’m down six pounds from five days ago – which tells me that that bad number was probably attributable to too much salt or something like that.

Still – I have a LOT to lose and I’m just happy to be on the way :)

I am officially back on Weight Watchers. I shopped last night and stocked the kitchen with great healthy meals and snacks.

Other times that I’ve started WW or some other weight loss plan, I’m usually depressed for a couple of days. Not this time. I’ve got an excellent attitude and feel very motivated.

rebounderRepeat after me: The Rebounder is My Friend!

Yeah, yeah, yeah – I’m getting there ;)

If you’re not familiar with a rebounder, it’s a mini-trampoline. I have a ‘big’ mini-trampoline with a stabilizing bar to hold onto. Yesterday I put in some time and by nighttime my legs were telling the story. Today I was able to put in a little more time. My goal is to put in 40 minutes of cardio – split into two sessions. It will take some time to get there – cuz I’m a terrible desk jockey – but I will keep on building on the day before.

On a Spiritual Note

I pulled out my desk bible and found a 90 day reading schedule tucked in the front from LAST year that I never started. My first thought was ‘Oh noooo’ – reading the whole bible in 90 days is a big commitment and this is a 48 day challenge. Still – I haven’t spent a lot of time in the word over the last year so it tugs at me. I’ve decided to go for it.

In case you’re curious, I’m going to be reading the New Living Translation.

Why do I want to be a Better Me?

I want to be able to do ANYTHING that God calls me to do in the future and not be limited by poor health!

    Congrats on the weight loss and for getting back on track with WW. The entire Bible in 90 days? WOW! That’s a huge goal but I’m totally in :-) I so need it right now.

    You are doing great! Wonderful job on the 6 pounds and I’d be happy to read the Bible in a year let alone 90 days. I got hubby the Bible on Cd’s that has 40 or so actors/actresses saying the different voices in the Bible. He listened to it during his commute and reallly enjoyed it. I got it at Sam’s Club or Costco a couple of years ago. But hey, you don’t have a commute!

    GO Kelly, GO! You are doing awesome! It is great that you found some cardio activity you like. I tried several things before I got on an elliptical. Now I’m hooked. It’s a great workout at home, while I’m watching tv or even reading. Keep it up, you are really doing well!

    Love my rebounder. I don’t use it every day because I like to change things up but it’s one of the best exercises out there. Enjoy!
