The weather is warm and most people want to hit the beach for fun in the sun. Before you do, there is the task of choosing a bathing suit. Don’t get discouraged. With a bit of help from the suggestions below, you should be able to find the perfect suit for your body.
The worst thing about bathing suit shopping is finding one that adequately covers what you want to hide. Depending on the area that you want to minimize there are specific things to look for. Some familiar places that women want to cover: large hips, large abdomen, large breasts, and lack of a waistline.
There are so many more options in bathing wear than ever before. The decision used to be whether to choose the one piece or the bikini. Now there is the tankini, boy short bottoms, skirt bottoms, halter bikini tops, and tank bikini tops to name a few.
Here are some suggestions to minimize the overabundant areas. If you have big breasts, a regular bikini top will only draw more attention to your top. Instead, look for swimwear that has wider straps and extra cup support. Extra padding is not needed in this instance. You want there to be full coverage especially on the sides.
For the large thigh and waist set, look for solid color suits. If you want a bikini, choose one with a skirted bottom or boy shorts. This covers up the upper thigh. The boy short can give a sleeker look to cellulite prone areas. Choosing a bathing suit that gathers at the waistline gives the illusion of a thinner waist because of the extra material. Some swimsuits are designed with tummy control materials to flatten your abdomen.
On the other end of the scale are those that want to maximize what they have. This includes those with small breasts, thin thighs, and no curves. There are bathing suits that give the illusion of more for women with small features.
Choose tops with extra padding if you need it. The padding combined with thinner straps lifts smaller breasts and makes them appear fuller. A V-shaped top will also increase the look of cleavage.
Shorter women can choose suits that have a higher cut on the thigh or separate pieces. A higher cut shows more leg and gives the illusion of a longer body. Avoid horizontal stripes. They make you look shorter.
There are swimsuits for every stage of life. Suits are available for mastectomy patients, pregnant women, and plus size women. These suits are made to flatter women. No matter who you are, there is a swimsuit with your name on it.
