As summertime approaches, women begin to think about swimsuits. Everyone wants to wear one, but not every woman feels that she has a bathing suit worthy body. There is a bathing suit out there for every shape of woman if you are willing to look.

Every woman wants to be able to walk down the beach without feeling that all eyes are on them. Wearing a bathing suit is the closest thing to being naked in a woman’s opinion. You are vulnerable and there is no way to hide your flaws.

The flaw is with this type of thinking. Choosing the right bathing suit takes care and planning. You may spend a little more for your swimwear, but it will be guaranteed to fit and flatter the shape you have.

No matter what your size, it is the fit that counts. A bathing suit that is too small will overemphasize all of those jiggly bits. A bathing suit that is too large will give the appearance of a drooping bottom or saggy breasts when you emerge from the water.

Once you have chosen the correct sized swimsuit, think about your positive assets. If you are proud of your bustline, choose a color and design of top that accentuates it and gives a sexy shape to your cleavage. If you are proud of your lean strong thighs, choose a swimsuit that is high on the waist to showcase your legs.

Dark colors are good for covering up bulges. A one-piece suit with a dark colored bottom will draw attention away from the hips and lower abdomen. If the bust is too large and out of proportion to your bottom half, a dark color on the top will minimize the breast area.

Lighter colors covering positive body parts will bring them into proportion to the areas that you want to minimize. Women with no defined waist should wear a one-piece suit that is darker on the bottom and lighter on the top. The darker color gives the illusion of a well-defined waistline.

Stripes are a trick of the trade that has been around for years. Petite women should use vertical stripes to give the illusion of a longer torso. Adding a skirt or a sarong also conceals cellulite and bulges.

Go to a store that specializes in selling bathing suits. The sales professionals can help you choose the appropriate look in the colors you want. A good suit may cost anywhere from $20-$65.

Summer doesn’t have to make you run for cover. There are ways to fix the imperfections that bother you. Remember though, that every woman out there is too worried about their own imperfections to be concerned with yours.
