Sarah Jessica Parker’s Road To Motherhood

Jesica_4Who doesn’t think Sarah Jessica Parker is absolutely adorable? You can practically fit her in your pocket, and she’s always an incredibly positive and genuine person. Plus, she’s in one of my favorite movies, Footloose, so no matter what she’s within 1 degree of Kevin Bacon.

I was initially surprised to read in the news that she is expecting twins via a surrogate mom. Because most people start immediately thinking things like:

“Why would you let someone else carry your children?”

“Won’t you feel less like their mom if you didn’t carry them?”

Rebounding Challenge Day Twenty One

Checking in, how was your week?

Day Twenty One: 30 Minutes

After a full week of rebounding for a half hour a day – I am feeling fabulous!

I’ve started to really feel comfortable on the rebounder.  I don’t have to hold onto the bar as much as I used to.  I’m working my arms a lot more :)

If you’re bouncing with me – leave a comment!

Summer Shows The Kiddos Will Love

_A245147.JPGI heard on the radio last week that “The Wiggles” are coming to my town, Austin, the second weekend of August. Unfortunately, my family is going to be out of town that weekend, so I’m totally bummed that I won’t get to see Mr. Blue Wiggle, Anthony, in the flesh, because I have a bit of a “mom crush” on him.

But it got me thinking. My son just turned two and he’s starting to show that he’s capable of paying attention to something for more than 5 seconds. Why not try to take him to a live show this summer and see how he likes it, even if he can’t see his favorite (and my favorite – wink, wink), “The Wiggles”?

I checked Ticketmaster, and there are a ton of family friendly shows scouring the U.S. this summer, so I thought I’d share a few with you:

  • The Wiggles Go Bananas
  • Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular
  • Dora The Explorer Live
  • New Disney Live
  • Thomas and Friends Live! On stage: A Circus Comes to Town
  • Bob the Builder Live
  • UniverSoul Circus
  • Sesame Street Live: Elmo’s Green Thumb
  • Mary Poppins

Be sure to check if your favorite, I mean your child’s favorite, is coming to a town near you.  And if you want the full list of family friendly shows, go to Ticketmaster online.

Summer Camps That Make You Want To Be A Kid Again

20080603_FITSFood (155)I remember going to Girl Scout camp every summer in the Rockies. We did the normal camp stuff, like horseback riding, crafts, and swimming. And who could forget the lovely stench of the “biffies”, aka outhouses that always seemed to be full of spiders and lacking in toilet paper.

But biffies aside, summer camp is something every kid looks forward to. And these days, even us moms wish we could get in on the action, because camps are WAY cooler. [Read more...]

Family Benefits of Planning Meals

Are you ready to save some time, feed your family healthier meals and save some money along the way? These are just some of the benefits of family meal planning. Let’s look at all of them in a little more detail.

Eat Healthier

Planning your family meals will cut down on your trips to your favorite fast food restaurant and the amount of pizza you have delivered to your door. Food you prepare at home tends to be much healthier than hamburgers with fries, fried chicken or pizza. When you plan your meals include some lean protein like chicken breast, as well as some salads and vegetables. Your entire family will benefit from the healthier meals. [Read more...]
