Moms For Simplicity Essay Contest
For all of you budding writers out there, HP and Dara Torres, the five-time Olympic swimmer with an insanely perfect body, have created Moms for Simplicity, a website devoted to busy moms wanting to share their stories about how technology helps them simplify their daily lives.
If you want to share your story, you can enter the essay contest here and possibly win the following:
- An HP technology makeover
- The chance to meet Dara and see her swim at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis
- The opportunity to see her compete in the World Championships in Rome, if she makes the team (like this Supermom won’t make the team?)
You must enter by at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on June 16, 2009.
Additionally, winners will become “mom reporters” at the U.S. Nationals where they’ll share their experiences on the “Moms for Simplicity” website through a series of video diaries.
I have two words for you ladies…Michael…Phelps…Now, who’s entering with me?

I’m especially trying to get my mom friends to Twitter because I think it’s the perfect way to keep in touch with people, in under 140 characters – the limit Twitter sets on each tweet. Because when you’re a busy mom, who has the time to write an email? [Read more...]

Tell us a little about your background and your family.
I have a background in the Corporate and retail fields where I served as a Customer service agent, trainer, and management positions. I also served as a group coordinator, project manager and event planner for my former church home for over 10 years in one capacity or another in addition to owning my own day care for 4 years.
So I have a lot of experience connecting, communicating and meeting the needs of the consumer. I guess you could say that service is in my blood. I am the mom of two boys ages 17 and 5 and have been married for 6 1/2 years. We are currently residing in Oklahoma after moving from Chicago were we lived from 2002 until the present.
